Procurement Specialist (Property & Facilities)

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with a focus on Property & Facilities Management.

Smith&Smith® operates in New Zealand through 60 locations alongside a team of mobile technicians. Laser Group services a network of Plumbing & Electrical companies across the country.

The Procurement Specialist is based at our Group head office in Penrose, conveniently located near public transport, and reports to the Head of Procurement.

You will be delivering on the procurement objectives and supplier relationship management in order to achieve the best value for the business.

You will have commercial acumen, possess analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, presenting to senior management and have a high degree of ethics. There will be a focus on the collation, analysis and interpretation of spend data to identify opportunities and implement procurement strategy to ultimately support the business in key commercial decisions.

The initial focus (close to 80% of the job) of the role will be on Property & Facilities Management split between projects and business as usual. Over time, more pure procurement work will be added.

The project side of the role will see you working closely with our Finance and Operations team looking at and recommending new service locations across New Zealand. This will include research, relocation and negotiations with landlords.

Business as usual includes staying up-to-date with trends in the light industrial / commercial real estate market, building relationships with agents, reporting on KPIs, basic property and facilities management (being the 'go to' person for our network), and manage related systems and databases.

In addition to this (the other 20% which will be growing in time) you will manage contracts outside of property, be more involved in the overall procurement strategy, look at improving systems and processes, develop tenders, and engage more with other suppliers and stakeholders.
